Unable to select 4wd L
Hi again!
I'm having difficulty selecting 4wdL on my 1995 turbo diesel sport cherokee?
The lever physically wont go any further than 'N' when I try to select 4wdL? It selects 2wd & 4wdH no problem?
Any advice is much appreciated!!

Doesnt have to be.
Not a tranny mount.
It has something to do with the linkage, adjust the collar back further on the rod.
It is also very likely the shift mechanism has just slipped out of adjustment. There is a bolt that is supposed to hold it in adjustment and if it slips, like if the bolt had loosened, you won't be able to pull the t-case into 4Lo.
Take a 1/2" wrench and crawl underneath, youll see the bolt as is circled in red in the below photograph. Loosen that bolt then shove the rod the bolt is supposed to hold in adjustment back into place. You'll likely see a mark on the rod where the bolt used to hold it. Having someone moving the lever from on top so you can see how the mechanism works will help you figure out why it slipping would cause it to do what happened to you. When you get it back in adjustment so you can pull it into 4Lo, tighten that bolt good.
