the front axle shafts can take Spicer 760x joints, and they're the strongest you can get for that application at a parts store. I've seen em hold up to big tires very well. For the DS, its Spicer 1310, but not everyone carries Spicer. Any of the premium U-Joints from a major parts house is sufficient. They usually run ~$30 each.
i noticed no one answered the OP question... ill agree spicers are what i always ran.

Any idea on what U-joint I should run on my 2WD? Or would the same joints work as on a 4x4?

you should have the same rear shaft regardless.. so yea 1310's.

I got all of mine at Autozone...I bought the Brute Force ones, got all 7 for a steal (there's a thread in the gen discussion section) Hope you have the same luck!!!
If not, they're only $16 each...

don't you need newer safts from like a 98 for bigger d30 ujoints

Is there a factory front drive shaft that can be used for a 5-speed XJ with that SYE? It looks like everyone uses XJ auto front shafts on an auto XJ's, but what about 5-speeds?
