i know there is a write up on how to do it but I've searched for a few days now and i can't find it if someone could give me a link i would appreciate it

no i have the c 8.25 and the bolts that go into the yoke broke for the second time so now i wanna switch to the u bolt style clamps but i wanna know what to buy and how big to drill the holes i know there is a how to write up i just can't find it anymore

yea man just grab a 5/16 bit watch you angle of the drill bit and go to town with it then slide the new retainers in bolt them up done after about 15 minutes

Actually I just blew up my rear d shaft on the hwy and cracked the yoke. When I went to replace the yoke it had the straps and not the u bolts. I asked why and the guy told me that the u bolts only call for 14 lbs of torque any more and they tighten too much and deform the shape of the cap and cause premature wear and cap failure. They do not sell em with the u bolts anymore He said you can torque down the straps as much as you want and you can't crush the cap. My 2c
