Default u-joint

What's up everyone? i'm new to this forum, I just purchased a 89 Cherokee Laredo last night... i got it for a good price because the u-joint was messed up... But, also the part where the u-joint sits is broken... can you guys tell me what i need to buy and do to fix this? this is my first jeep i've owned, i've only owned import cars so it's a big difference for me. thanks.

You know what that u-joint sits in? With that big nut right there on the rear end? That's the yoke.

straps hold the caps of the universal joint in place to the yoke. remove the big bolt and pull the yoke out, you may want to get the seal that the yoke slides into.

oh i couldn't tell by the pics, so you need a transfer case slip yoke. it should just pull out. i would replace the seal too while your there.
before you go junk yarding make sure you know what transfer case you have.
or just order the right one.
