Default U-bolt plate holes too small for 5/8 u-bolts...

Any suggestions on how to enlarge the holes? I'd rather not have to buy new plates but if i have to buy a $50 tool, i might as well just get the new plates.
I'm in the middle of upgrading my stock sagging leafs to OME CS033RB leafs and I'd really like to finish this tonight...

File, small drill bit enlarge holes a little. Also most auto parts store sell block kits that include u bolts and nuts ive used on dana 35 chrylser 8.25 and dana 44 slide right in. Unsure if they work on stock setups

Ok, now that I'm home... i don't have a file small enough to fit in the holes of the plate. I'll have to get something. Recommendations?

Why don't you just get a 5/8th inch drill bit?

Because it'll grab unless you have a drill press to drill it with. I'm a toolmaker and have been there many times. Also the shank would probably need to be turned down to fit a standard hand drill. Besides that you should go 1/32 larger than 5/8.

I do not have a drill press. Any suggestions on some type of grinding wheel that could attach to a hand drill?
