the brake recall was a rust belt recall only. goto the NTSB website and look up jeep cherokee recalls.

I keep seeing people say that, but have yet to ever see a 97 with electrical problems short of power windows and locks, or hack jobs.

I was contacted by jeep and both front brakes and nss were replaced under recall at no charge to me. Maybe they did it out of the kindness of their hearts but I highly doubt it lol. I have a 92 maybe it has to do with certain years?

This may be true, but still they replaced the rotors free of charge aswell as numerous other things.

It very well could be different for each year though, just as xjheep92 suggested.

I tried getting the seatbelt recall fixed on my rig but they denied be because of the modifications done to the vehicle. I hate stealerships.

Age and mileage are the main factor in many of these issues. fortunately almost every problem you will encounter can be repaired easily in your own driveway, many times in just a few hours. go online by an fsm for your model year and have fun. I would be willing to bet the most of the issues encountered happened around 200,000 mile mark. you should be able to pick 1 up on the low hundred's for just a couple of 1000 dollars
Totally agree dude I have a 95 and I by passed the nss before probs and no electrical problems besides rear wiper but idgaf! And I replaced my headliner for 80 bucks and my front axle u joints for 160 my jeep is not the prettiest but it runs good besides ny cylinder head port for spark plug is stripped because of previous owner but I got a new one for 289 from jnc ent.
