Drove it around for a bit. Hesitated and almost stalled a couple times. When i stopped the rpm would go super low and almost stall. Made it to work and as i stopped in the driveway it died and wouldent start. Was a really hot day and the temp guage was reading high. One hour later after i let it cool down it started up. Drove home that night with no problem. This morning was checking it out and it started and ran for 2 minutes and died again and wont restart. Cant hear the fuel pump turn on. So now im trying to fugure out what is causing it to turn off fuel and spark randomly. New cps. (Not mopar....).

There is a recurring thread in this thread.
Multiple people throwing parts in their Jeep in an attempt to diagnose or fix a problem.
There are some very knowledgable people on this forum.
Listen to the members that are recommending testing to diagnose your problem.
Then replace the part(s) that are required for the fix.
Follow the reccos.
Mopar only for cps. Search for cps adjusting on this forum.
Next search for info on fuel pressure and fuel pump issues.
Good luck, and keep us updated with your results.
Knowledgeable members will guide you as you go to get your Jeep back on the road.

no pulse at injectors. then when i try to test again i hear the fuel pump start up and boom the engine starts. after letting it run for about 10 minutes it stalls. wont restart. no pulse at injectors again and check engine light does not turn on when key is in the run position (it did this morning).how do i test the cam sensor? would a faulty one cause it to run sometimes for a few minutes and then shut off fuel and spark?, the asd relay seems fine, switched it with the fuel pump relay and made no diffrence. could this sound like a bad ecm? curious why it is nessasary for it to be a mopar cps? thanks.

I'm really not much help here. Plenty of posters have reported problems with cheap aftermarket sensors. To make things worse, a number of bad ones may have come off the line, so a replacement from the same place might be bad also. For my Renix I'll only go OEM, or we know Napa is OK there. Your 92 is very different though.

Yea, if it runs it's likely not the ASD relay (or it's fuse). I'd thought you said it always died right away...

I've seen that the cam sensor can throw a code....don't know if it always does though. Your CPS can be faulty and not throw a code. I think it only throws a code if the 5 Volt feed from the PCM had a problem.

Dyeing after warming up, then restarting later is a classic symptom of fubar CPS. Mine, (again, a different critter), now and then will no-start hot, but start if I unplug, then re-plug the CPS. Years before I joined the forum I had painted my mom's CPS plug white, so she could point at it and say, "my son says to try unplugging, and re-plugging that there"

There would be no injector pulse or spark without a CPS signal. In a Renix with no ASD that will not affect fuel pressure. Not sure there about your 92/HO.

For what it's worth...system power goes to the front of that ceramic ballast resistor there on the fender near the air cleaner. A few volts less comes out the rear, directly to the pump. It was added to quiet the pump a bit, it can be eliminated or bypassed. If the rear terminal had power and the pump isn't going, the pump or it's wiring is faulty.

so after the last time it started its been running good for about 40 km. stalled while driving today. when i try to turn it back on , no check engine light or fuel pump noise when key is in on position. if i do a few turns back and fourth from on to off CEL and fuel pump will turn on and jeep will start and run. really confusing. pretty much about to take it in cause im out of ideas what to check.

I might check and see if there is power there at the rear of the ballast resistor while the pump isn't coming on. It only powers up a couple of secs after the key is turned on. (Then again cranking, then again after running)
