I don't think my battery was dead. Even with a jump I am getting no power. So I must have screwed something up somewhere. I'm defeating for the day, though.

 

sorry to say bro, but those terminals are far from acceptable imo

A Brass brush for the female parts and you really need to clean the male spades with a small file, or grit paper glued to a stick

a dead battery is suspicious, you should conduct a parasitic current draw test (easy Google), a bad battery can also cause strange issues

 

All good. I will go back at it with the techniques you mentioned. I appreciate the input on how to clean them better.

I will also do a parasitic current draw test as soon as I can find a working multimeter. At the moment I can't even afford food, so it may be a minute.
