Default Turn signals acting up.

Odd issue. The turn signals are acting funny. some days it will work and some it will blink like 4 times then just give out. The other day i hear it grinding. Days it does not working if i attemp to use it, it will then work for about 4 or so blinks but after that it will not work untill i wait like 2 mins before using it again and gets the same issue. Checked the fuse and its fine. What else do you think could be wrong?

Behind the dash, near the headlight switch on a metal bracket is the signal/hazard flasher unit. It's a square relay with 9 terminals... should read "DOT" on the top.

Replace it.
