Default Turn signals

My right turn signsls are not working. The bulbs work when i turn my parking lights on but when i turn on the signal nothing hsppens in the front and the rear signal and signal in the gauge cluster flash fast like there is a bulb out. I figure there must be a bad ground but cant find one. What should i try next?

Check the fuses and relays?

I figured it must not be bulbs or fuses since the turn signal works, just not in front.

Don't those bulbs have dual filaments? One is for the parking lamp and the other for the turn signal (front bulb at least). Check.....

I believe they are dual filaments. Replace the bulbs first. Then if it don't work check relay.

It must not be the bulb, I changed both front passenger side signal bulbs and it's still the same. I can't find a relay to replace. I've searched and cannot find one in any of the spots I've been told to look.

If your bulbs are good, then you have an open wire to one or both of the turn signals. The flasher works when it sees resistance from the filaments.

Are you absolutely 100% sure it's not a ground problem? The right rear on my '91 gave me fits, working intermittently... turned out it was the ground after all. I replaced the socket with the one from my parts jeep and the problems ended

Could it be possible that the relay is just missing?

Ran into this same problem on my 96 XJ, bulbs were good, hazzards works, but not signals. Cleaned sockets, checked grounds all good. Traced wiring along bumper and found the wire harness ran under my Air box. There is multi plug connector under the Air filter box. This is a common problem where the wires break at the connector. Check the wiring at this connector. The dealer mechanic I have been dealing with for 20 years told me to jumper the wires to by pass the connector and the turn signals should work. The dealer cuts out this connector when the problem arises and solders the wires together. There is JUST enough wire to do this operation. I just jumpered the broken wires and left the other good wires in the plug.
