Anyone ever buy these tune up kits rock auto and such sell? Better off to buy the stuff separately? Some include filters and ignition stuff while others are just ignition.

I buy all of my tuneup parts from NAPA. I like their "premium" line of products which for not much more money, gets you a cap and rotor with brass contacts which are superior to cheaper aluminum contacts.

And plain Champion copper plugs are all you need for your '94

I bought Borg Warner stuff from O'Reilly's. Wires, cap, rotor, and coil. And Champion copper plugs. Well worth it, I got a smoother idle, eliminated my misfire codes, gained about 1 mpg, and have stronger acceleration and more power throughout the RPM range.

Rick auto has Bosch platinum plugs for 3.87 I think. Bosch has a 3 dollar mail in rebate. Will they help performance and mileage?

No. Champion copper. Period. I replaced Bosch platinum plus 4's with champion coppers and had a huge improvement.

Don't go with Bosch. I generally like Bosch products, but there have been a few documented cases of the Jeep 4.0 engine developing a misfire with those plugs, which was resolved when owner switched plugs.

Get plain old Champion copper plugs. All your engine needs. Be sure to verify gap is .035 before installing! Never trust gap out of the box.
