Default Tune-up?

My jeep needs a tune up reallyyyy bad. Im planning on doing it myself, and this will be my first self-tune-up so i need some tips. Im 15.... so dont have much $ but i for sure want to get higher quality parts if possible.

So that being said, what all is involved in an average tune up? links to parts i need?

Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, oil change is typical.

just did mine, i used premium, wires, cap(brass), rotor, the premium are like 2-3$ more so just go for it, also do the fuel filter and air filter... If you can go to Napa, they wont steer you wrong... advanced and autozone are iffy unless you know what you're doing, if you can, bring in your old cap and rotor, cause there are different styles, write down your firing order if dont have a manual. im forgetting something tho

but as for wire, plugs, cap, and rotor.... im confused on what to buy?

i always go to advanced auto parts just cuz its the closest and if you go online and search for coupons you can usually find 30% off, then place your order online and pick it up in the store. They seem to have the best oil change specials too. I got a BWD distributor cap+rotor in my jeep and it works good just check the reviews. And be sure not to overtighten your spark plugs cuz they can strip

You don't have a cap and rotor on your 2001, just need plugs and inspect the spark plug boots. Use Champion or Autolite plugs, just the good ol copper ones, you don't need 4 dollar plugs in a 4.0 to make it run well. Unplug the coil packs at the rear of the assembly, remove the four 13mm headed bolts that secure it, and then carefully remove the assembly from the engine. Gap the plugs to .035" and install them. Then install the coil pack assembly making sure all of the boots are on the spark plugs, install the four bolts and plug the coil pack connector back into the assembly.

Do you need to replace the wireset (rubber boot and springs, $23 autozone) on an 01? I have read in some forums that you should yet the service manual says 'rubber boots and springs are a permanent part of the coil and are not serviced separately'.

Do ngk plugs for our 01s. Air filter forgot the fuel filter it's a pain in our 01s. Fresh oil change. I've gone full synthetic on mine about 20k miles ago use dielectric in your boots when doing the plugs

You aren't the only one. I'm always on app and it doesn't have a profile

Thanks for the info. Yeh I did the fuel filter/pump a few weeks ago. Kick in the groin, but actually it was kinda fun.
