I'm driving a 1988 Cherokee with 31 inch tires. I need to replace my rear axle and I'm trying to make sure I get the right ratio. What should I get? I think the basic is 3.55.

You need to check, no one can tell you. Look for a tag on the diff cover, pull the cover and look for markings on the ring gear, or jack up the rear end and turn the wheels and count the DS rotations.
