So, I bought the Jeep about 2 months ago and have since been getting all the bugs worked out, before I put her on the road. At the moment, I am waiting on an exhaust manifold, to replace the infamous cracked stocker. In the meantime, when I bought/ test drove it, it ran good. However, on the road trip home (about 20 miles), I found that when in third (oh yeah, it's an automatic) the rpms would climb and climb and climb before shifting in to fourth. I have checked the fluid level and the color, all looks good. I'm just curious as to why it would shift fine from first and second but wind out in the rpm range in third before going in to third? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
