Default Troubleshooting cruise control

I picked up my 1995 XJ back in July. Everything in the car is pretty much flawless, except for the cruise control. Not sure how long it hasn't been working, but regardless it is something I'd like to fix.

Where should I begin to determine how to repair it?

I'd personally start at getting a factory service manual. It will have your diagnostic troubleshooting as well as wiring schematics. The ladder being the more important because this is an electrical assisted system. It could be anything from switches to the computer brain of the system to a pull cable. Familiarizing yourself with the system before you unplug or probe anything is going to give you a higher advantage of not messing something else up in the process.

What are the current conditions if you don't mind me asking?

I just bought a factory service manual online, so I will look through that to determine where to begin. Thanks!

We are here if you run into any snags! The FSM is great to have! Individual sections for each part of the car with diag on each! There will be a chart in the FSM that lists problems and lists their possible causes. Then you kinda just go from there in regards to testing systems.

Good luck! Let us know what you find.

I did a visual check of all of the vacuum lines, as well as the cable to the TB, and they appear to be good. I will have to check the fuses and other parts another time.
