Default Troubles staying running/ starting/ HELP!! PLZ

Hello,
i bought a 94 XJ about a week ago (5 spd, 130xxx miles). I drove it home about 30 miles with no problems. today i went to the scrap yard and got a radiator since it was in desperate need of one. I put the new radiator in tonight and i was letting my jeep run to get the thermostat to open. All of a sudden it died. i started it back up and all was good for about a minute or two. It then rev'd slightly high randomly for about 3 seconds then went back down to normal RPM's. About a minute after that it died again. I started it back up just fine and it conitnued to run and idle normally. When i was pulling it out of my buddies garage it died in the middle of the road. This time it would not start back up. i was able to limp it in the parking lot on the started motor. Once i hit the parking spot it then started (and almost hit a f-150 in the process). So i shut it off and turned it back on, worked great. i turned it on and off about 4 more times and all seemed normal. Of course tho on my 2 minute drive back home it died. there is no reving it to keep it from dying which makes me think its electronical? maybe? It doesn't spit or sputter before it dies.. Im pretty confused. I planned on wheeling this weekend and this issue it gunna set me back. Some input would be greatly appriciated. Thanks
~Ryan

Im kinda thinking cps but not sure.
When it does the "not starting" thing, have someone crank it and see if it has spark.

x2 with the cps. I think your issue can be triggered by heat, if I read correct i assume cold starts are always fine?

Im not sure of converter clogged, i doubt that would cause this. And i dont think its the pump either cuz it just dies. no sputtering or spitting.

There are methods to test the cps before you replace it, just use the search function.

The search will also tell you the tips and tricks to replacing the cps if needed as well.
