Trouble pinpointing 99 XJ Fuel System Issues

Engine: 4.0 L
The replacement is an updated model and says "Made in China" on the box. I'm now planning on trying to rebuild the old fuel pump assembly with a Bosch 69316 pump since the Bosch 67658 have been discontinued and nobody has them in stock.
