Default Trimming questions

I was wanting to trim my front fender, i was woundering if it is even worth it, i have a 3 inch rough country lift, i'm not sure. also if i was to trim the fender i would need an inner fender to keep salt and what not out of there what should i do to fix this problem. i herd of foam tubes cramded in there but it is my DD so don't know if that would last. any help please.

I just cut the fenders on my DD and it's no big deal without the inner splash shield. I haven't bought the foam pool noodles to stuff in there yet, but not much has made it's way into the crevice anyway. I personally think it looks awesome with trimmed fenders, but that's just my opinion. Also, the inner splash shield may even hold up all on it's own with the little buttons that hold it to the body even when it's not bolted to the fender flares.

I removed the fender flares first, layed out some masking tape over the area I was going to cut, so the paint didn't chip much. Then I used a 3 inch pneumatic cut-off wheel to cut the metal. I just followed the body line above the holes for the stock flares. After that, I ran it down the edges to smooth it out so I didn't cut myself or my tires when flexing. I finished it off by putting some rubber door edge molding along the edge, so it was safer for my hands and tires to touch. I don't have a picture, but can have one up tomorrow.

I don't have a camera, but took some pictures with my phone. They should give you an idea.
