Default Trim tape

The body trim on my 99 is REALLY faded and the tape is starting to let go and the ends are pulling away. I want to take them off and repaint them, then put them back on. What is a good, STRONG tape that will stick them back on really well? Thanks!

3M Trim Tape, double sided tape. Many auto parts stores sell it.

If you are sure you want to put it back on, clean it with lacquer thinner first and then use a product called "back to black" (found at most auto parts stores)
You will have to re-apply to keep it looking sharp~!

I appreciate it. I knew 3M made some stuff, but wasnt sure of the exact product, if people had used it, what the results were, etc.

Ive thought about the Mothers stuff, but Im probably going to Rhino, Line-X, etc., the bottom of my Jeep up to and including the trim parts. The fenders are the same plastic and Jeep painted those pretty well, so I think thats what Im going to do. I need to replace the rocker panel on the passenger side this summer when I do my floor pan, and Im pretty sure the color match paint I get will look a little off, so Im just going to make the bottom of the Jeep as tough as possible when I do this. For now, Im going to take the trim and paint them and see how it lasts/looks for the next 2 months then decide what Im going to do.

That back to black looks like it works well. Just in case you want an option, forever black also works well
