transplant cruise control from 89 to 95

Default transplant cruise control from 89 to 95

i am doing a steering column swap from my 89 to my 95 and the 89 has cruise control. is it possible to take the cruise control from the 89 and set it up to the 95? and how do i go about this, i have no idea how cruise control works ( assume it's vacuum operated )thanks guys

89s a gm plugs are not different for electrial ? Trans planting cruise would require harness modifications PIA if ya ask me .

Plus the 89 cruise switches do not operate the same as the 95. The switches for the 95 are not a simple on/off switch, they send a signal to the ECM and the ECM looks at the resistance value of the switch to see what request is being made. Each of the mode switches for the cruise on the 95 has a different resistance and the ECM sees that. That is how you can have multipal switches on only two wires in the clockspring.

Would I be able to do the cruise swap if I used the 89 clock spring? As far as connectors go I had planned to cut the wires and swap harnesses.

No clockspring in an 89 column. Just find a column from a 93-98 ZJ, or an 95-96 XJ and be done with a lot less headaches.
