transmition, axles, transfercase question?

Default transmition, axles, transfercase question?

Hello everyone. Thank you again for all of your help. Im finally ready to get my lift. However where do I look for and location? To verify which make and model axles, transmition, and transfercase? Need that info. Haveing difficulty on locating?

There are tons of threads on this site to help identify your rear axle, front is a Dana 30. Also Rusty's offroad has a list showing the different diff covers. Your transfer case will have a round tag on the back side that will tell you if it's a 231 or 242. A 231 has 2hi 4hi n and 4lo. The 242 has 2hi 4hi part time 4hi full time n and 4lo. And you have an AW4 tranny if it's an auto and AX5 or AX15 if it's a manual. I think the BA10 had been shelved by 90 for the 5 speeds.
