Default Transmission whine.

I have the 4 speed trans in my 1999 Cherokee. Automatic 4 speed AW4 I do believe. I had a slight whine while in drive or reverse, and no noise while in park or neutral.

Today I did quite a bit of work:

Oil pan gasket
Valve Cover gasket
Rear main seal
Transmission filter and gasket.

After draining the trans and putting in a new filter and topped off with fluid; I still have the whining noise but a bit louder.

AW4
Whining Noise
While in Drive and Reverse
NOT in park and neutral

(4.0L - auto - 4wd)

Anyone have any advice?

Mine had a whining noise. I changed the trans fluid and it took about a week before it went away. A friend of mine that has a transmission shop said that there was probably air in the tourque converter.

I have whining when I drive at any speed, can only hear it when coasting tho. I was thinking either one of my differentials had low fluid level or the tranny
