Default Transmission vacuum lines

I have a dangling what appears to be a vacuum line connected to the top of my transmission. It has metal tubing on the end with rubber tubing. Is there such an animal. Where does it go to from there? Thanks for any help. 91 Laredo 4x4

There is no vacuum control on the aw4 it's probably the transmission vent line.

If it is a breather vent I would personally clip it as far up as I could. So water can't get into it. Yet I intend mine to be set up for anything to happen even floods

I am guessing that because there is a check valve there water can't get in. Same for the transfer case. That being said I extended all my breather lines up front to where the front diff goes.

The one that usually goes under a bolt at the bell housing to engine has no check valve. Just shaped kinda like an upside down U.

Look above my fingers in that really crappy pic I posted.....

Where did you get those breather valves? I need to do the same thing to mine.

Pretty sure when I extended the lines in my '00 that there was a check valve, at least I think it was, on both tranny and TC. Looked something like this. I would have to look at my spare parts to be sure.

Like cruiser said. Factory part for the front diff breather. Sometimes referred to as the top hat breather. Part number J5352955. Runs a little under $4

I guess I need to order them, when I ask for them at the parts store they don't have a clue about what I am talking about, but that doesn't surprise me.

That is a Mopar part number. I just order them through my Jeep dealership.
