Default Transmission removal

Well I haven't found anyone with this problem but I have a 97 XJ and I am trying to replace the transmission.. Well I got all the bolts off even the e12s at the top. It's just not coming out I can move the transmission all around but it seems like its caught on the flywheel or shaft? Not sure. I dot know what else to really say but it's just stuck on there some how. Is there any bolts on top that you can't see that would be preventing it from coming out or is there a special way? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Did you get the torque converter bolts? Can't remember, I think there are 3 in total, bolts the torque converter to the flex plate, get at them threw the starter hole, rotate engine with breaker bar from the crank bolt untill you get them all.

Manual or auto trans? (You said "flywheel", so I'm assuming manual, but gotta ask.)

Good point, but a lot of people don't know the difference or just refuse to call it what it is, and also just thought of something else, did you take the tin inspection plate off? If not, that will hold you up on the flywheel/flex plate

It is auto. But I got the 4 bolts off that hold the flywheel I think it is to the torque converter. I got the lower shield off I noticed there is one above it though I found out I need to take that off for the trans to come out so I think that is what it is stuck on

I got it out. It was the shield up top preventing it from coming out..
