My transmission has 244K miles on it. It has a big B&M external trans cooler that was added at 140k miles from the previous owner. I bought the car a few weeks ago and it runs awesome..... The transmission was serviced at 140K and shifts great, but takes a little longer to shift into gears, kick down needs adjustment. Should I change the fluid and filter or no?

At that age you should change filter and fluid as part of maintenance anyway, but yeah check your throttle cable coming off the TB and TPS. Good time to make sure the whole TB, IAC, and associated sensors are clean and workin' good

 

Transmission fluid change: Dump and refill, not power flush. Those things are the power-pump of death to older transmissions.

 

Change the fluid. Takes 3.8 quarts. Unless the fluid is trashed, I wouldn't change the "screen". The TV cable adjustment really helps.
