transmission problems
NEED HELP
one day I was driveing down the road and my trans started to slip a little then I lost every gear like it just went in neutral then I turned it off and started it again and got my gears back does anyone know why this happened and how I can fix it
and will a trans out of a 1995 work in my 1988

No. A 1995 trans wont't work. You need to stay with 1987 to 1990.
How is the fluid level and condition?
Have you ever changed it?

O.P. - So to clarify, the transmission fluid level is correct and the fluid is clean - Yes or No? You've completed Cruiser's Tips 1 and 10 - Yes or No?
Is it accurate to say that currently the transmission slips slightly - such that the only way to get the Jeep to move is to rev up the engine (in other words, give it gas)?
AND that even giving it gas, it will slip and act as if in neutral?
