I'm not sure if you already have a trans cooler in a 98, but my 87 had the lines going to the radiator. You can cut the lines you have clean near the oil pan and just run some hose to a small trans cooler, fitted in front of the radiator. At the JY today I saw a 96 setup like this. You'd want to plug up the lines in your radiator tho.
I bought mine off Rockauto. The Parts Catalog only shows Sunsong, but you can find Dorman by using the Part Number Search. Both come from China, so i doubt there is any difference between them.
The coating scratched easily on mine, so i painted them, with engine paint. The stuff with ceramic in it. Cap the lines to keep the paint out. Keep the lines capped until you are ready to connect them. I installed new fittings onto the lines first, then threaded them in, by hand. There should be an o-ring on each fitting. I coated the new ones with a little trans fluid first. You may have to tweak the lines a little here and there as some of the bends didnt match the factory exactly for me, possibly from shipping. They were close, tho. I cut thin slices of rubber hose to fit inside the crimped ends to serve as dust shields. This wasnt factory, but it shouldve been. Push them into the fitting once its connected.
The Dormans have been workin for me so far for about three months.I noticed the old ones have a plastic thing in the transmission side but the new ones were just a one piece integrated clip.
