Transmission line leak.

Reading some other threads it seems you can just cut the metal tube and the rubber hose and put a hose clamp on it. I don't have to flare the pipe or anything? And this works for the high pressure line too? Just don't want to have the line pop off. Would prefer a slow leak...

No need to flare, and that high pressure is not very high pressure at all. No worries.
A couple of worm clamps, and the rest of the line will fail before that joint gives you any trouble.
