Default Transmission Flush

Hey Fellas,

It's about that time, for a transmission flush. I did a fluid replacement at 120,000 (now I'm at 155,000-transmission is smooth), but I've never done a full flush.
1. What is the best transmission fluid to use (last time I used whatever Advanced Auto had listed by the manufacturer)?
2. Where can I find the manufacturers maintenance recommendations for my 1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0L

Thanks,
Queen

You really don't mean "Flush" do you?

A regular drain and refill is all you need to do on a regular basis.

Use Dexron III/Mercon fluid. Comes under different names by various manufacturers, e.g., DEX/MERC, DEXIII/Mercon, etc. As long as the container states that it conforms to Dexron III/Mercon you'll be fine.

I thought I had to do the flush, but I will just do the drain and fill again. Any tips for doing this without having to deal with moving the dipstick around?

Thanks for the info!

YES!!

Remove the drain plug. Drain fluid. Reinstall drain plug. Fill trans to proper level following the instructions on the dipstick.

That is all.
