transmission fluid?

I have a 99 xj and I was wondering what type of transmission fluid and how much it takes cause Im planning on replacing all fluids soon.

I believe it takes Merc 3. And about 4 qts. with a filter change.

Dex/Merc III compatible is the best fluid for your AW4.

As mentioned, if you only drop whats in the pan, you should buy 4 quarts.
