Default Transmission Cooler Flush ?

I have a 97 grand cherokee with 230k on it. I bought a junkyard transmission and replaced the front and rear seal and the filter. My question is how can I flush the cooler with the tranny out or can I? Could I just run air in the line's or not? The old transmission, when I removed the pan had metal flakes as well as shard's on metal about an inch long in the filter, stuck to the magnet in the pan and all inside. I have the new one ready to go in, just wanted to check before I started on it. Thanks

Pull the hoses and flush with water then blowout with air, let dry out. As long as you get ALL the water out of the cooler you will be OK. You may need to replace the torque converter, not sure if I would try using water there, hard to get dried out properly.

i just took my compressor and blew the line out. About a quart or so of fluid came out, it looked clean just a little darker than good fluid. Thanks for the help.
