I have a 98 Cherokee that has been throwing a p0700 code which is for the transmission control module. The only issue I have with the transmission is occasionally when accelerating the Jeep will shift into overdrive earlier than it should, then out and back in again. After it goes into overdrive the 2nd time it drives fine. I’m trying to figure out if this is the transmission control module causing the problem or if it’s really the torque converter locking, unlocking, then locking again. I can’t find any similar symptoms on Cherokee Forum, so any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
