I will check it but you can definitely feel it in the floor and only in first gear

Yeah mine sounded like the tranny was seperating from the engine, or like, ****ed up splines meeting, it was a scarey *** noise, does not sound like what it was though. Mine did it in first at park, never when I was going more than 5 mph.

Don't know if some ones already suggested this but, U-joint, replace my dads 92 xj, had a really weird vibration at certain times, but not all the time, check the u-joint and the cap was worn in 2 and where there were supposed to be needle bearings, there was dust.....replaced them and.....smooth as glass.....

I checked the exhaust and it was very stable but only have about an inch between that and my transmission, could it flex that much? I wiggled the drive lines and have no play but will probably end up replacing them anyway

I think the exhaust would cause more of a rattle than a vibration, if that makes sence, if your getting a "rumble rattle" almost like starting in to high of a gear, I wouldn't think you exhaust would make that sound, but I have been wrong, anyway, I wish I had more suggestions for you bro, good luck....

You will only notice a u joint problem at low speed unless you have a severe issue with them. At slow speed it throws the driveshaft out of balance wich causes vibration. Once you reach a certain speed the shaft balances out and vibration will be gone. The exhaust will cause a rattle or knocking noise instead of a vibration. The only other thing would be the TQ converter not locking up causing a vibration but it would also cause it to slip
