I do not think they have the same bolt pattern but not sure, as I have not seen a 207 for many years but when I looked it up it does look similar but different. Sry that I can't be more help.

OK what makes you thing the other T-case is bad? And as for swap ya they should be the same bolt circle.. But the NP207 is a very junky box. They were installed factory in the '87 YJ's but do to the inline six tearing them up it was replaced with the NP231..

87 has the 4.0 ax15 and np231 and when i bought it, i tryed driving it and i went to put it in first and there was nothing the same with the rest of the gears, and i can get it to move in 4 low but 4 high or two wheel wont work!! i had a ford machnic thats live rite next to me and he said it was the t case and i only reason i am going to put in the np207 is cause i cant afford to replace the t case at this time so just to get it moveing better i wanted to put the 207 on for a lil bit!!

Sounds more like the linkage needs adjustment. If the T-case was bad it wouldn't move at all... You might just have the linkage bracket popped of it's place...
The easiest way to check would be to remove the bolt on the t-case that holds the "square" shift linkage, shift it with a wrench and see if it moves, if it does than it's just a adjustment issue....
