I tried searching maybe i didnt word it right. Which transmissions and ttransfer cases will swap. My 1988 xj i got cheap for a trail truck, got a flipped 97 and got all the running gear, lift,wheels etc. When something happens to my engine i will prolly just find another 5 or 6oo dollar jeep and swap everything over. the only thing im worried about is keeping my transfer case with the slip yoke elim. I know the 97 was different. What would be a year to try and stay under?

 

90 was the last year of the 21 spline although some 90s have 23 spline but I'm guessing they are 90 models made late in the year.

 

What about my tranny(auto) will it bolt up to the newer 4.o? the high out put 4.0s?
