Transfer Case Questions
Ok. so i have a 3 1/2in. lift on my 2001 xj limited. When i start from a stop there is some vibrations that eventually go away at around 10mph. What do i need to do to fix that? Is it my transfer case? I believe i have the 242 TC.

Do you have a transfer case drop or a SYE? Without either one of these the drive line angle may be to great for the u-joints to make up for and this would cause the vibrations.

What the guys stated above will fix vibes coming from the rear driveshaft but, with a 2001 XJ you also has the "Low Pinion" front D30. at 3.5" of lift with the LP D30 you could very well be experiencing vibes from the front driveshaft as well.

And the TC drop would fix vibes both front and rear by relieveing the U-joint angles a bit in both driveshafts.
From using a TC drop it will provide a better rear shaft angle, but since the motor mounts act as a pivot point, it will point the front out put of the TC upwards. Therefor creating a worse angle.
I would have to recommend picking up a HP Dana 30 and some shims for the rear end, and or a HnT for the TC.
The drop will just undo your 3.5" of lift you worked hard to get.
First I would check all joints, you never know.......
