Hi. I have a 1995 Cherokee Country 4.0 automatic and need a new transfer case. I've found one from a 1997 Cherokee sport 4.0 automatic and need to know if it will fit (easily) or what the differences may be and how to address them. Thanks in advance!

which t case do you have on the 95?

any idea what the one on the 97 is?

np231 is part time only 4wd

 

also the name of it is stamped on a metal circular tag on each t case. the np231's tag is red colored, and its on the rear side.

 

I know mine is an NP231J and he said the 97 is an NP231 also but that there could be a difference in the output shaft and some type of electronic difference. Any thoughts?
