thats what i thought untill that one..... my 93 has 4.5 of lift and no tc drop, no sye and no vibes. Had a 95 with 3.5 and no vibes.
I have installed 2" BB on 4 97 or newer XJs and 3 of the 4 had rear vibes from it. Dropped tc down and all was good again.

Thanks for all the advice. My angles look pretty good so I took the drive shaft off today and greased it again. The problem is still there. I'm starting to suspect the exhaust again. I'm wondering if that lift is making the exhaust hit something when I let off the accelerator. I checked where the shackles would hit the bumper mount and that's not it either because I removed the lower bolt that it would have been hitting on and just mounted the bumper with 3 bolts on each mount instead of 4. The vibrations are pretty minimal, but the grinding/rubbing sound is definitely there. I really have no idea other than the exhaust. I really don't think it's in the driveline.

Default same lift..

selbona, I was getting ready to order the same exact lift from Fat Bob's when I read your post. Mine is a 96 and i just put new 235/75 BFG AT's on. Now I am hesitating because of the problem you are having. The jp essentials book does have a transfer case drop set up in it. My thoughts is if I have to buy the budget life and then a new set of ujoints and a transfer drop kit... its not so much of a budget huh? I'd love to see yours after yo installed it.

I'll try to get some pictures of it tomorrow and send them to you. Here's my take on the Fat Bob's lift. It sucks. The shocks it comes with are terrible. The little inserts that go in one end of the boot are really rough and not rounded, so when you try to push it through, it tears the rubber. I had to call and get more of them because I tore one. I had to use my grinder to round those inserts off a little so it didn't happen again. Also, those shock bushings are loose! It makes my shocks rattle when the jeep is idling. I can hear it and I know exactly what it is because it's the same sound they made when the old bushings on the old shocks wore out. The instructions were useless also. If it had not been for this website, I would never have gotten that thing on. I guess the shackles are okay and the front spacers. I don't know. If I had it to do over again, I would get the RE 3.5" Super Ride system. If I'm going to have to shim and drop the transfer case and have steering issues, at least I would have the height.

I have a '96 sitting 4" above factory specs and no TC drop or SYE. Some get lucky some not so much.

I put Fat Bob's 2" spcr/shackle kit on my '98. Not their shocks though. I used ProComps.
No vibes, rattles, or shakes.
