Default Transfer Case crossover bar

Been trying to locate the thumping underneath. Found tailpipe hanger broken,...fixed,...then I just started pushing things around underneath to check for more loose stuff. Noticed that I could grasp the transfer case and press up (with moderate pressure) and it would move up off the crossover bar ever so slightly. I wasn't able to check too close (started to rain), but I did see bolt access holes on the crossover piece.

Should the transfer case move at all from the crossover support bar or should it be solid?

Are you talking about the tranny mount?

Sorry, yes,...the main support bar for the tail of the tranny. btw: how different does your exhaust sound from factory with the cherry bomb? (i.e. boat in the water, road course,...)

The crossmember is attached to the unibody by 2 bolts and 2 nuts (assuming if they are stock).
There's another 4 nuts in the middle of the crossmember that secure the transmission mount to the crossmember.

Check if they are secured.

Here is my worn out tranny mount.

Check these....i fairly sure you have a worn transmission mount. Replace it if needed.....would replace the motor mount as well.

GL.

X2 on the above. The cherry bomb muffler sounds nice, kind of beefy an not to loud insde the ride.

Thanks guys,....

Would like a "beefy" sound but that was my concern. I didn't want it to overpower the cab
