Default Trans. pan removal

I know this sounds ......, but I don't like to wreck things. Anyway, what is the secret/trick to geting the Transmission Pan away from the vehicle('01 Cherokee) after it's unbolted. Thanx inadvance for your help.

Well one thing most don't mention or haven't discovered is that, at least on my 97' model, is that the dipstick tube has two pieces. Look carefully then give it a firm but gentle yank. and be ready. There is ALOT of fluid in the pan. I still have NO IDEA why the drain is near the back instead of the front where all the fluid is at.

Good Luck.

With all my strength I couldn't get mine to come apart haha. I unbolted the dipstick tube up in the engine bay and dropped the whole thing. And yeah, the pan tends to hold a lot of fluid even after draining. Jacking up the front end a bit will let a lot more fluid out.
