Default Trans Mount Nut Size

Does anyone know the size of the 4 nuts that attach to the studs on the transmission mount? I have a new mount coming today and need to replace 2 of the nuts. I'd like to pick them up on the way home from work but if I need to take the new mount to the store, no big deal.

Thanks in advance!

The four studs from the mount cushion to the crossmember should accept M8-1.25 nuts. I like to use CRES nuts with Nylon locking collars, so I don't have to worry about them vibrating loose (Nylon-collar locknuts should be replaced when removed.)

I think the two screws into the transmission case are M10-1.5, they may be M12-1.75. But I'm pretty sure about the stud nuts.

You may use flat washers as well, if you like, but they'll be difficult to hold in place. If you insist on a washer surface under the nut, I would recommend using flanged nuts instead of regular hex nuts - that gives you the larger bearing area, but they're still one piece.

If you can't find Nylon-collar locknuts, you can deform the last thread on a hex nut using a rounded-off punch and a heavy mallet. If you go with a deformed thread, I'll suggest replacing them every time you remove the nuts as well - they'll retain elasticity better than the Nylon, but it's cheap insurance.

I prefer the Nylon collar or deformed threads over LocTite. I do something similar with the screws that retain my Cardan joint straps (I forgot once, and lost a couple of the screws. I coasted away from my rear driveshaft shortly after...)
