Trans fluid is cinfusing me

No one sells atf4 in a gallon and its all pricey by qt. can I get the dex3 stuff at Walmart since atf4 didn't even exist when my h
Jeep was made ?

If you have the AW4 transmission you should go with Dex-Merc III, it's what was in the transmission originally. Some people have had problems using ATF+4 in their transmissions even though that is what Chrysler now suggests you put in there (btw, they make ATF+4, and all Cherokees are long out of warranty...so...)

Dex Merc III is what you should use. Pretty easy to find by the gallon.

Not to mention Chrysler didn't make the AW4 and the manufacturer only ever specified Dexron II lol. Apparently up until 2007 Chrysler said ATF+4 was verboten, then suddenly in 2007 it was okay... hmmmmmmm...

You could always run Toyota Type T-IV for fun
