I'm new to the forum, and fairly new to Cherokees as well. I have a '87 4wd w/ 4.0/5speed that turned out to have a lot of issues, so I recently bought a 92 2wd with a 4.0 and a thrashed 5-speed. What I am trying (hoping)to do is to put the trans, transfer case, shafts and front axle from the 87 into the 92. They both appear to have the peugot-built trans, and both rear axles look like Dana 35's. Don't know if the ratios are the same, though. Anybody know anything that won't work, or have any suggestions; I'll take all the help I can get!
