Tranny/ Transfer Case Roar
Good afternoon all, Friday my XJ started vibration and harmonics from 48 MPH up. Continued when i take foot off gas. Today my mechanic feels its the rear axle. Harmonics coming from Tranny hump/console area which leads me to believe its the tranny and/or transfer case. Pulled jeep over put it in 4 hi and eased over a curb and the jeep felt as though it was "binding" a made moderate clunk as i peaked the curb.?????
Thoughts on diagnosing the problem? Have a 5 spd with NP 231 tranny and 3.07 gears.
