Default tranny swap question

i have an 88 cherokee with a junked aw4 tranny. a friend of mine has a 92 parts jeep with the same tranny. I know it will bolt up fine, but what would be involved with the wireing and tcu? any help is much appreciated.

No but the plug is the same. The new one has the same tranny plug as the old one does IIRC.
