hey guys im doing the transmission on my 2000 xj. i have the bellhousing bolts out. the torque converter bolts out. everything unplugged. cross member ready to drop. have the trans case still attached. im ready to pull it out but it looks like the exhaust is gonna have to drop out to let the trans come back and down. my manual got trashed and i cant find anything on if the exhaust needs to come out. 2000 xj sport 4wd 4.0l w/ 231 trans case.
ive searched on here and naxja and i cant find anything.
thanks in advance for any help

I find that its usually easier to remove it, gives a lot more room to move around and also a good excuse to change the gaskets while you're at it. The frustration of working around it isn't worth keeping it installed imho
