Default Tranny question

Does it matter if the transmission is in gear or not on an AW4 when removing it?

Not really but it would be better if it's in park. Chock the hell outta those wheels, good habit to be in anyway.

oh thanks!

1 more question.

Has anyone ever used these tranny mounts? and why is there one with 1" and one with 3"? Should I just get a stock tranny mount?

Idk daystar has the 2 heights and says to use one or the other depending on where the exhaust bracket is. Its confusing and personally I like rubber mounts better (poly is very stiff). Check out rock auto for a good oem style replacement.

I have the 3" one sitting in my room, waiting to be installed. I bought it from summitracing.com and they didn't have the 1 1/2" option so I really don't know the difference. I'm not sure when I'll be able to take it to my mechanic to get it put in (I don't have the tools nor the capability to do it myself) but I have heard that you'll get more vibes with a polyurethane mount than with a rubber mount that's in good shape but polyurethane will last a heck of a lot longer

Ahh I see I didn't think about that at all!! I'll save money and go with the OEM. Thanks

You should atleast go under it and put it up next to it and see how it lines up and see if its bigger than the stock.
