AW4 = Dextron Fluid
Start with a drain and flush, then repeat, then repeat.
Sorry no other way less you open the valve body to let more out, but that can lead from bad to worse.
As a last resort, disconnect the line to trans cooler and pumper out at idle, shut off immediatly when flow stops. Refill.
Dextron only.
Anybody got more thoughts?

Sea foam trans tune has worked absolute wonders on a few aw-4 trannys for me. You may want to put it in with your dex fluid, it cleans valve body parts out. If you have over 75k, valvoline max life works great.

Don't be worried about anything seafoam makes. Dex/merc is the fluid you want. Its already been said. Use the fluid pictured and you wont have a problem. Ive had about 10 vehicles with the aw4, I always use this fluid, and trans tune.

Gotta look at "cause and effect" principle here.
If it shifted fine BEFORE you changed the filter and fluid, gotta look at work and materials performed.
The only real wildcard here is fluid. I agree that Dex/Merc III is the proper fluid, regardless of what the TSB that Chrysler issued a while back.
SOME (not all) AW4 transmissions do not like ATF+4. I've seen and answered more than a few threads on it. Because of that, I will only use and recommend Dex/Merc III compatible fluid.
You could test your throttle position sensor as that is involved in shifting characteristics of the AW4, but the odds of that going bad at the exact same time as you did the transmission service is extremely low!

Mine was doing the same thing so I replaced the tps, runs great now. I used ATF+4 (not knowing about dex. At the time) and I'm doing just fine.
