Default tranny mounts?

87 cherokee 4.0 manual

so when i take off with power, when i let out on the clutch somethimes theres a small clunk...im thinking tranny mounts or ujoints.

thought?

Check out the exhaust system too. I've had both go bad, trans mount and exhaust mount in the same area.

Very common that the exhaust pipe touches the crossmember under acceleration, right where it passes over it. Easy to see that and the condition of the mount at the same time.

Not really but worth looking at. Make sure the mount has all it's bolts and nuts, too. I've had them missing before. Mounts many times are deteriorated because of trans fluid leakage, too. Poke your noggin under there and have a gander.
