Default Tranny Lines

Does anyone know if i can get tranny lines besides from the dealer? I have asked my local parts stores and they tell me its a dealer part only. BUt then i got to thinkin, That those lines arent pressurized and if i can take them off cut them and just run a rubber hose in place of the metal if it would work? I know i would have to put a piece of the old line back in that way it gives me a place to connect the rubber line and clamp it. I replaced about a foot of the metal line in the front of my jeep cuz it had a hole in it. And i used a rubber hose and some clamps and it works great. The reason why im asking is because my tranny lines leak a good bit sometimes. But Do you guys think that replacing the metal line with the rubber line would be good? Or what are some suggestions?

Really? When i called advance auto here they said nope dealer part only. So i dont know if they just didnt feel like looking it up or what. Sometime the guys there can be a smartass. So maybe thats what it was. Ill have to check with them again tomorrow. I really need to get them replaced.

Viton hose is great stuff but if it's not available regular neoprene hose is fine. Don't let it rub. Support it with a small slit piece of the same hose..
